Hard keeps the straight lines and slants of the easier levels and adds their opposites. A word may read right to left, bottom to top, or backwards along either diagonal. The letters themselves do not change, only the order in which they are meant to be read, and that alone is enough to hide an entry in plain sight.

Familiar vocabulary keeps this fair. Because the theme stays with well-known disciplines, you are never guessing at a spelling, so the whole difficulty sits in the direction. That makes it a good match for anyone who clears a medium sheet quickly and wants the search to last longer without turning obscure.

So many sports here end in -ing that the reversed sequence G-N-I becomes a signal in itself: spot that trio anywhere and follow it back to the start of a word.
