With so little room, the grid leans on the plainest end of the space vocabulary. Expect the words anyone would name first if asked about the night sky, plus a couple of planets and one or two pieces of equipment. Nothing here needs explaining, which is why this size works as a first attempt or a gentle restart.
Because words still read only across and down, the small board never turns into a trap. The filler letters around the answers are the whole difficulty, and there are not many of them. Printed, one of these fits comfortably on a page with room to spare beside it, which suits a bookmark, a place card or a warm-up sheet.
Find the longest word on the list first. On a board this narrow it can only sit in a few places, and once it is down the remaining letters thin out fast.
