Medium keeps everything readable in the normal direction — no word is spelled backwards — but adds the slanted paths, one climbing and one falling. That single change alters how the grid feels. A letter you have already dismissed as part of a row may turn out to be the start of something running away from it at an angle.

This is the version most people picture when they think of a word search, and it holds the whole kitchen list comfortably: the drawer tools, the counter appliances, the pantry shelf of salt, flour and vinegar, and the verbs for what you do with them. It works as well on screen as it does on paper.

When a word refuses to appear, stop scanning rows and follow the diagonals out from the corners instead. Slanted words are easy to miss precisely because the eye is trained to read in straight lines.
