A word search for dog and cat lovers, packed with famous breeds, animal sounds, toys and everyday habits.
This page brings together the best-known dogs and cats, from big, sturdy dogs to small, nervous ones, without forgetting the lap cats. It also covers the vocabulary of living with them: play, sounds, care and gear. Children learn to recognise breeds, and grown-ups find their own companion in the list.
Pick your level: easy, medium or hard, with grids from 8×8 to 20×20. On easy, words run left to right and top to bottom; medium adds diagonals; hard allows every direction, even backwards. Grids are generated and then checked automatically by software, free to print, with an answer key and batch printing for the classroom.

Classroom activity idea
Split the class into dog fans and cat fans. Each camp solves its grid, then lists the breeds it found and describes the size and coat of each in one sentence. Finish with a quick vote: which breed would everyone most like to meet first?
Classroom use is allowed: print as many copies as your students need, free of charge, with no sign-up.
Breed names are long and distinctive, so look for their first letter, such as the B of beagle or the T of terrier, before following the line.
