Bilingual word searches / Mots cachés bilingues (ESL, FLE)

For learners of English at A1-A2: tick “List in French” under the grid, then find the English word that matches each French word.

The twelve themes below cover the vocabulary of the first lessons: animals, the farm, pets, birds, the ocean, the weather, winter, the body, the senses, the kitchen, sports and jobs. On each theme page, the “List in French / Liste en français” box replaces the list with translations: the learner reads vache and must find COW in the grid. The printed sheet follows the same setting, and the answer key shows the English words.

The PDF word list gathers every word from the twelve themes with its translation, theme by theme. Hand it out before the grid for a guided activity, or after it as a reminder. The same themes exist in French: an English speaker learning French ticks “Liste en anglais” on the French pages and looks for the French words from their English translation.

Have the French list read aloud, then ask for the English word before searching: the grid becomes a spelling check.
